A few days ago, I told you about a skirt I made, it’s time to show it now 🙂
The pattern I used is Butterick 5488 that was given to me by dear Isabelle.
I made model C as I wanted a skirt easy to sew. Even though it’s mentioned « Sew easy » on the pattern, I wasn’t sure it would be so easy for a beginner like me.
I made it in 3 afternoons. It can seem long but I wanted to take my time to sew something, not perfect but well done and it was the first time I had to sew a zipper!
Pattern Description: Misses petite skirt & skort, I made C with a side zipper.
Pattern Sizing: I made size 14 but could have used 12 for waist and 14 for hips.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, Except picture B was the same as picture E on my pocket, I can see the difference on the picture above found online.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, even for a beginner.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? That’s a basic skirt but I love the result.
Fabric Used: Not sure as the fabric is from my Mum’s stash.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I didn’t use hook and eye above zipper.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would certainly sew it again maybe in black.
Recommend it to others? Yes, it’s really an easy skirt to sew.
An excellent basic an easy to sew skirt.
Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures but it was very dark when I took them (I’m horrible on the pictures).
